How to optimize an article
1. Find a best key phrase for the article.

- Go to Adwords - Tools and Analysis – Keyword Tool (https://adwords.google.com/)
- Insert the keyword combination, choose country and language and click “Search”
- Choose the right KW – longtail
What is a longtail KW?
Long tail keywords are the longer, more specific keywords that are less common, individually, but add up to account for the majority of search-driven traffic.
Long-tail sear marketing presents an interesting conundrum. The long tail of search is:
• Voluminous - Long-tail keywords (or less popular, less searched on keyword variations) actually represent more search volume, in aggregate, than more popular keywords.
• Challenging - The search terms in question represent a lot of traffic, but that traffic is driven by a lot of keywords. Being able to research, group, and manage all those keywords is a difficult task for the search marketer.
• Additionally, long-tail keywords are generally very specific. This can be a real advantage in search marketing, because often more specific, niche key phrases reflect higher buying intent (if one users types "cars" into a search engine versus another who types "2009 Mitsubishi Galant," who is more ready to purchase a car?).
2. Use the picked key phrase in Title and link of the article.

NB! If you’re optimizing old article don’t change the title and link – links to the article will stop working if they were shared somewhere before. It'll be as a new article.
3. Use the picked key phrase in text and headings.
Text should look normal, not robotic. If you can use it only 2-3 times because of the text of the article – it’s OK. Text should still remain natural.
4. Links should be alive!

Combine both options proportionally.
NB! Links inside Webnode blog – Open in the same window.
Links that go outside Webnode blog – Open in the new window.
5. Optimize images

Put title, ALT text and description in the properties of each image using key phrase relative to the article and the image itself.
NB! Leave link only when image should be enlarged in the article (screenshot with many details etc.).
If the image is visible in the article – click “None”.
